card types – Just about anything is possible
There are several types of co-ordinating cards, scrolls and additional
stationery items such as photo albums and guest-books available.
It can be confusing when you try and work out what goes where. Bear in
mind that if you don’t want to follow the conventions, done
by daisy will work with you to create a perfect solution
especially for you. If what you want isn’t mentioned, just ♥ contact
us and
we’ll work out how we can do it for you.
Save the Date Card possibly with an envelope, or even as a fridge magnet?
| We can supply either | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) post card style | landscape/portrait | single flat-stitched insert |
| A6 (105 x 148mm) folded card style | landscape/portrait | single flat-stitched insert or spine-stitched insert |
or any size to order
If you are planning your big day during high summer or maybe around Christmas,
or even abroad, this is an advance warning to all your guests.
You need to
be ultra-organised here; send this card between 12 to 6 months before your
wedding (see timing) You also need to have very
clear ideas of the colour scheme and/or style of wedding that you’re
thinking of if you want all your stationery to co-ordinate.
Wedding Invitation with
envelope
| We usually supply a folded card style – why not choose from… | ||
| A5 (148 x 210mm) folded card style | usually portrait | single flat-stitched insert or folded spine-stitched insert |
| or | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) folded card style | usually portrait | single flat-stitched insert or folded spine-stitched insert |
This is likely to be the first hint to your guests about the style of your
wedding and will probably reflect your style as a couple too. It is the main
information source about your celebration. If you are going to enclose reply
cards and envelopes, maps to the venue, accommodation information and possibly
wedding list details, then you may like to consider another slightly larger,
possibly padded envelope to fit it all in.
This invite should be sent to your
guests between 12 and 8 weeks before the date of your wedding, in order to
allow time for the replies and time for you to plan.
The design featured on
this key item is pivotal to all other co-ordinating items, which don’t
necessarily have to repeat exactly the same design. In fact, dare we suggest
that the other cards are often better with just an element of this main design?
Scrolls with
presentation box
We are able to supply an A4 (210 x 297mm) printed scroll,
rolled and tied with ribbon, presented in a matching box. There are several
colour and finish options. The box will feature a stitched-on element, such
as your names and possibly an embellishment and the scrolls themselves can
feature stitching too. To save you some money, we can supply the boxes flat
for you to make up yourselves. For pricing options take a look at our ♥ how to order pages. Sturdy, outer posting boxes are also available.
Evening Invitation with envelope
| We usually supply a folded card style – why not choose from… | ||
| A5 (148 x 210mm) folded card style | usually portrait | single flat-stitched insert or folded spine-stitched insert |
| or | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) folded card style | usually portrait | single flat-stitched insert or folded spine-stitched insert |
This is to send to those who will not be present at your wedding service,
but will join you afterwards to celebrate. The design featured on this invite
is often the same as that on the Wedding Invitation.
This invite should also
be sent to your guests between 12 and 8 weeks before the date, at the same
time as your Wedding Invitations.
Reply card with/without envelope
| We usually supply | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) post card style | landscape or portrait | with single stitched insert or printed direct-to-card |
This is the ‘RSVP’ that you have requested on your Invitations.
It ensures that some of your less organised or very busy guests don’t
have to think about composing an acceptance or otherwise! It is an optional
(organised) extra to pre-print a return address label for the envelope/reverse,
with some brides even going to the generous length of pre-stamping the envelope!
This
card usually has very simple brief wording with a dietary requirement space
and will probably not feature a design element - after all they are going
to be sent back to you.
Order of Service or Order
of the Day
| We usually supply either | |
| A5 (148 x 210mm) folded card style | with 2 folded double spine stitched inserts (up to 8 page sides) |
| or | |
| A4 (210 × 297mm) paper sheets | |
The folded card option is usually an outer cover featuring folded printed
inserts, (though if you have opted for a simple civil ceremony or simply
want an Order of the Day, you may wish to work with a narrow DL format) (99
x 210mm)
The
card outer cover may feature the names of the Bride and Groom as well as
the date, time and venue of the Wedding, or this information can be shown
on the first page of the insert. The subsequent insert pages are to guide
your guests through the hymns and readings of the service or indeed to communicate
details of the civil ceremony and the celebrations that you have planned.
Often undecorated,
in simple classic white or ivory, this card might feature a narrow (coloured)
ribbon or braid through the fold to co-ordinate with your chosen colour scheme.
This item is usually ordered much later than the invitations (see timing),
because you will have detailed arrangements that are not usually finalised
until much closer to the wedding date. The style that you select will probably
match that of your Invitations to provide a cohesive feel to all your stationery.
A4
printed paper or card sheets can be printed (in a co-ordinating colour if
required) as a simpler option
Table Plan
A1 (594 x 841mm)
or very occasionally A2 (420
x 594mm)
A large unique collage decorated to reflect the colour scheme and
style of your wedding, co-ordinating with the theme of your other stationery
and the reception décor.
This is a one-off piece and is usually displayed
at the reception venue entrance on an easel for example. This plan will illustrate
the layout of the tables and who’s sitting where and with whom. The
Table Numbers or Names correspond to those on the actual tables and the name
position echoes the positioning of the Place-Cards.
Prices for Table Plans
usually work out at around £150.00, but are
quoted individually and reflect the tight timing that usually accompanies
the final guest list for any wedding. Strict copy deadlines have to agreed
and accepted to give done by daisy enough time
to produce a Table Plan that you will be proud of.
A beech easel is available for loan if you are Sussex–based
and can collect.
Table Numbers/Names
| We usually supply a double-sided postcard style | ||
| A5 (148 x 210mm) folded card style | landscape/portrait | with flat-stitching or printed direct-to-card |
| or | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) post card style | landscape/portrait | with flat-stitching or printed direct-to-card |
These accompany the Table Plan and can be as simple or as decorative as you like. Not always strictly defined as stationery, done by daisy has been known to get very creative with Table Numbers and Names! Let your imagination run wild and have some fun!
Place Cards or Favour Tags
No standard
sizing
| We usually supply Place Cards as |
60 x 100mm folded |
| Most popular Tag sizes are | Narrow 90
x 35mm or Wide 100 x 50mm |
| Standard hole can either be a | small round
heart or
daisy. |
| Tags can be left | un-punched. |
| Tags are offered | Blank or with
sewn-on names, or cut or torn to size. |
Ribbon can sourced to match and is usually 3mm wide and 25mm long in
satin or organza. Length can be varied, wider options & a range of colours
can be sourced.
Again, as plain or as crazy as you like and again pricing is
totally dependent on quantity and content. Tell us what you want and we’ll
find a way it get it made! If you want some of our ideas to reflect the style
or theme of your wedding then we have loads of them!
If the names of the guests
are to be included in the order, then the same strict copy deadlines that apply
for the Table Plan are also applicable here.
Thank-You Cards with
envelope
| We can supply either | ||
| A6 (105 x 148mm) post card style | landscape/portrait | single flat-stitched insert or blank |
| A6 (105 x 148mm) folded card style | landscape/portrait | single flat-stitched insert or folded spine-stitched insert |
Your
guests came and saw and ate and drank! Shouldn’t they be thanking
you for such a wonderful day, yes of course, but they did give you a fantastic
present and without your nearest and dearest friends, family and neighbours
you wouldn’t have such treasured memories of your perfect day – so
take the opportunity to tell them so.
Supplied with an envelope, this card
can include a pre-printed insert or be left blank for a personal and individual
thank-you message
